UPDATE 1

So I’m starting to compile not only resources and subjects to learn more, but also I just found the best way to run rails in windows. First you need of course Vagrant, there’s a simple installer that makes your live easier.

Once you do that, make sure you install GIT not only for git itself but to use their SSH tool to log into your vagrant envs.

After that go to your env new and log in, follow the steps from this link

Great Ruby course. I could not understand RoR via ALL the tutorial online,
so I decided to just learn Ruby first. $199 USD.

2. One Month rails – http://goo.gl/eCshVt

Great RoR intro. Nice “bite sized” first step. Best “easy” RoR tutorial online — PERIOD. Cost $49 USD.

3. Ruby on Rails Programming with Mike and Nicole Clark – http://goo.gl/DsN9fv

VERY good RoR 4 online training. Cost $199 but worth every penny.

4. Engineering Software as a Service: An Agile Approach Using Cloud Computing -http://goo.gl/JrC609

This is the free “Berkeley” class. Great class, you just have to buy the book (Kindle version, $9 USD), everything else is free.
This online course gives you EVERYTHING you need to know to BUILD a SaaS.

5. Stackoverflow

For me the Michael Hartl’s tutorial was just to “wordy” I don’t know why it did not click for me, it IS a good tutorial. I like video/visual training. My path does cost money, but I am a big, “free stuff is not good, good stuff is not free” kind of guy when it comes to training. Good luck.

More to come, now we have rvm, ruby and mysql installed with this I can do anything from anywhere regardless of the OS.
